Default Exterior door handle gasket.

While working on my rub strip removal, I noticed the exterior door handle gasket was crumbling. I'm not sure what to do. Is this common? Looks like a real pain to replace if even available. I actually thought about removing the rest of it and running a line of black silicone caulk in it. Neatly of course!
Any advise? I don't want water leaking in.

You can buy the gaskets for about $40 USD each. They do come separately (left and right sides).

Here's a thread on your question. Replacement does require removing the door card.

I got mine through Jagbits for ~$100 for the set. It is a bit of a pain to replace unless you have help. I replaced mine and trying to tighten the 2 bolts while making sure the gasket and handle were seated properly were a bit of a trick but overall about an hours worth of work.

Here's the link for the gaskets

I just used a sharp knife and trimmed the crumbling bead, using care not to scratch the paint underneath. Takes about a minute and the sealing portion of the gasket remains functional.
