I just replaced these less than 3 years ago. Does the fact that the strut threaded rod is offset indicate a failure? If so, what would cause this so fast? Also, where can I buy a good one?
Juat wait, the replies will be coming. Yes, that is the beginning of segregation of your upper mount. Many replacements are disappointing to say the least. Forum member Wayne is making replacements. Not sure how many requests he can keep up with so I won't answer that. I have used the Uro brand that many don't like but mine are good so far. 2 years or so. TM

Yes, it is failing but with a twist.
The material used looks like it is polyurethane and not degrading as the foam ones do. However moving off centre still results in a mount that no longer works.
In my opinion it is caused by a design fault in that the bushing is not restricted enough in it's lateral movement. This has been addressed.
