Will be in the RDU area next week and seriously thinking about driving over to Apex to look at this 05 XKR, i know his cars are in pristine condition but paying $30k makes me a little nervous. My 06 Jagxk8 has lower miles but black on black and i really like the Quartz/Dove color combination. any thoughts on this vehicle would be greatly appreciated.

I think you would be better off buying from a private owner.
Four years ago I spent $7,900 on my 2002 XKR coupe, and it had just had all the known XK8 / XKR typical issues fixed: cam chain tensioners, water pump, engine seals, etc.
As well as coming with a complete maintenance & repair history which showed that the correct adaptive dampers (and other pricey wear parts) already replaced.
It only needed a set of tires to be long distance road worthy.
Prices may have gone up since then, but not 400%.

nice looking XKR - front looks a little low and one of the pics of the engine bay - you can see what appears to be the upper shock mounts starting to deteriorate - so plan on some suspension work
Ironically though he moves a ton of inventory and also has a number of satisfied customers, his business has been so good he recently purchased a private jet to fly in some of his customers! go figure......
I think he sells to wealthy customers who travel to him from long distances away and wind up purchasing with their heart, not their head. They do not want to return home empty-handed and are willing to cough up the cash. More power to them as long as they have done the research and realize they are getting hosed....

I'm happy to see that someone is working to get the price up.....Most of the time this XKR is listed @ about $18,000.00 to $20,000.00, as it is a really good-looking Convertible.....I can see that particular Lady's mouth-watering now! It is a nice-looking XKR!!! Thinking back over the years, I've owned some really good-looking Automobiles but I have never had a Car that I have received so many compliments on as my XKR's......I'll bet the Guy gets pretty close to what he wants for this Car!
Problem: 43,000 Miles on the Clock!
Good Luck to the Buyer.....
