Default Finally chose the color for my wheels.

Took my car to my wheel painter and after he tried to polish out the etched areas on my gloss black wheels, we decided they're too damaged to try to buff and simply clear coat.
So I've decided to change them to a dark silver color. Ironically the color I picked is an Aston Martin color called Argent Silver. And even stranger, when he sprayed a sample it's about two shades lighter than the factory window trim.
I hope it looks good! 300.00 isn't bad and I think it will be good money spent!
Goes in Thursday and Ill have back Friday for pics!
Think I'll have convertible hard top covers painted same color!!

This is close to the color. Too edgy?

This is a matte finish, I'm going with clear coat. Easier to clean and not quite so modern.

Looks good to me and will be a nice contrast to all the black.

Modern shmodern, you want good looking and timeless. Go with the clear coat, it will probably look better in 20 years than the matte.

I guess the real issue it that I actually don't like my wheel style at all!! They were just an awesome deal with good tires and much better than my pitted and flaking original impailers with shot tires. Hindsight, I'd have simply bought what I really wanted and probably have no more in them than I Will after this!! Although I don't think I could have found a set of wheels and bought new tires for 1500.00.

I like that colour too Phil.

The whole black thing never quite sits right with me but that colour will give your car just the right amount of lift from an aesthetic point of view.

But seriously, will you ever get to the stage when you are happy with it?

Ha ha, everyone asks me that!! Truth be told, I'm happiest when I think of something new to do! Eventually I'll get it to what, in my head, looks like my vision, but I'll then probably sell it for a newer body style and start over! Don't get me wrong, I love this car but I really enjoy pushing the envelope with what I can do with it. And I never think of resale. It's my hobby and I've spent many happy hours planning new ideas, some make it, some don't! And luckily, I'm a good barterer so the cost is usually minimal. But not always!!
And besides, my mods (good or bad) give a lot of good viewing on the forum. And maybe I've helped someone decide either way to or not to do something they were thinking about!! I tend to jump head first before thinking!! Lol

More power to you. Many a truly remarkable innovation came out of people like yourself tinkering and trying to make things better.

To paraphrase Ray Bradbury, "you've got to jump off the cliff and build your wings on the way down."
