Finally done with front end refresh and upgrades
I am finally done with front end suspension and steering refresh and upgrades after a long winter of work. Really happy with the result! The cars runs better on the road and looks better too, at least to me. Before car was having a quite bad jiggle in the steering wheel, it was badly following tracks in worn road surfaces and not feeling very sharp when cornering. ALl of this I wanted to improve
Virtually all parts that wear has been replaced, except for shocks that I judged as good to go. All bushings and ball joints in the front end has now been replaced. Top mounts are the poly mount from Welsh, otherwise it is standard type bushings all over. Engine mounts I also replaced since last year the car developed nasty vibrations when engine between 1200-2200 rpm. Those are gone now
Springs were replaced with Adamesh lowering springs, lowers approx 20-25 mm. The car had Adamesh lowering springs at rear since one year ago. As you can see the front end now is having more space between fender and tyre, so I need to address that next Winter. I also removed the grille since I Think it makes the car look to "nice", I want a meaner look and I think that was achieved. The Wheels are Tsw Chicane 20", 10" at rear and 8.5" at front. Havent seen them on a X100 before but they gave the look I was after
Front end stripped
Old springs being removed
Brake upgrade from last year, new spring in Place

I got the spring compression tool from our biggest tools store here in Sweden, Biltema. They have four or five different sets of compression tool and this is the top set. It contains three different sets of plates for different sizes of springs. Biltema have got stores in a few more countries in northern Europe but certainly not in UK or USA
Today I also got the alignment done at the car. WOW!!! Now they car drives as it should, incredible difference from last year and it think its now on par with most new cars out there

I liked that as well, so I did some searching and found similar ones available from Amazon or Ebay, from a low of $65 , so an average of $90-$120 and up to $200- all depends on "brand". Here's a couple
