Hi Zray,

See if this works. I'm not exactly sure how to post the link.
Amazon Amazon

If that doesn't work this is what it's called:

Black Nylon String Cord 110 Yards Braided Ornament Lanyard Thread Bracelet String Satin Cord for Bracelet Making, Jewelry Thread Clay Bead Cords (2mm Black)

Got the main dash and three gauge section off and put the new T10 and T5 LEDs in. Wow, you can actually see the gauges!! I'm runnin' out of steam about now so I think the center console lights are going to have to wait until tomorrow morning. We've had some high temps the last couple days, low 90s, and all kinds of humidity so it's time for a Guinness. I may head out for a little test ride tonight to see how mama likes having the ability to move her headrest to where her head is. And, who knows, maybe the cruise control will work.

Now that I took the whole center console out and removed the a/c and other switch package from the center, along with the radio it turns out that the video I watched regarding what type and size LED bulbs to get to replace all the ones in those units was wrong. It was one of those O&DR Modurol videos. It said that T4.2 bulbs would fit, however, they are a bit too large and will not fit into the holes. Now I have to wait for the T3.5 and T4 bulbs. Oh well. Such is life on the internet.

I did discover that the plastic frame that all those things fit into was cracked in a few places so while it is out I'm repairing it.

I ordered that Dorchester Gray paint for the trim pieces and it came in yesterday. I painted the little bumperettes that go on the horizontal bar on the front of the car. Mine were all messed up from someone doing a really bad job of installing the front license plate holder. I filed in the holes, fixed the crack that ran about half way across the middle and primed them and painted them. They look pretty nice, the paint matches very well. Now I have to paint the cowling under the wiper blades. I'm not sure if I want to remove it or just tape and cover everything around it. Anyone ever removed that part?

Those LEDs look amazing at night. The T3 ones are supposed to get here tomorrow so it will be off with the center console, again!

It's not too difficult: probably the hardest part is getting the wiper arms off.

After which, undo the six screws along the top (the outer four are under the 'finisher clip' covers). Make sure you capture the plastic spacers as you take the screws out - they should be between the trim and where it attaches.

There is a screw in each corner at the front, and two nearer the middle. Detach the drain hose at each side and it will lift out far enough to disconnect the pipe to the window washer jets.

I found that the rubber seal to the windscreen was coming adrift from the trim, so I removed it and refitted with some double-sided tape.

Thank you sir. I'll give that a try later today or tomorrow.

Turns out you can just switch the incandescent bulbs with an LED bulb if you can't get the base that comes with the LEDs to fit into the hole in the panel. It seems that it wasn't so much the diameter of the base as it was the space in the locking mechanism was too narrow on a few LEDs. Now I have nice bright lights in all the center console and the gauges. Now if there was a way to take the face plate off the radio easily I could solder a few LEDs in place of the dull incandescent bulbs and everything would match, lol.

I also took the map light unit out to replace those lights with LEDs. There's the usual plug on the starboard side for the lights but there's another plug on the port side that goes to some items that are under that screen that is to the rear of the cover. Anyone know what those are for? I was thinking one might be for the phone microphone since this car is equipped with the Alpine sound system which appears to allow phone communication, but I have no idea how to connect the phone.
