Fix for door mirrors and remote locking failure
I posted above requesting suggestions/advice for multiple electrical issues after major bodywork repair—https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk8-xkr-x100-17/electrical-problems-after-bodywork-repairs-255054/#post2483371
I'm posting here in case it helps other folk with the same/similar issues because the fix was entirely unexpected and could easily have been missed (by idiot me anyway).
Essentially, after having a new bonnet and driver side front wing fitted when I got the car back home I noticed the following issues that most definitely were not there prior to repairs—
1. Both door (wing) mirrors were inoperable from the driver's door switches they would not adjust or fold back.
2. The passenger front window would not operate from the driver's door.
3. The key fob remote would not lock/unlock the doors but did activate the security system
I'm pretty sure the body shop did not disconnect the battery as the radio did not request a code when switched on.
The driver's door switch pack/module seemed to be a likely candidate and I suspected a harness connector had not been replaced. While waiting for it to be rebooked into the body shop to sort out I thought I'd check the fuses just in case.
Long story short—fuse #15 in the driver fascia fuse box protects the driver door switch pack. The fuse tested good in situ with a DVM—it looked intact visually on pulling. However, on replacing the fuse the cabin lights came on and all the previous issues were resolved! I can only assume pulling the fuse reset the door module but quite why it needed to be reset I can't figure. I did have to reset the windows which suggests a reset of some sort. If I had simply relied on the in situ DVM result and not pulled the fuse I would not have got it sorted. I suppose that a full reset (battery leads + and - held together) my have had the same result.
Anyway, I came across a few posts with my issue and none mentioned this fix so hopefully it may help somebody.

Indeed—i guess the message I was trying to get over was not to rely on just testing fuse continuity in situ with a DVM—if I had not pulled a "good" fuse I would never have gotten this happy outcome .
