Default Found my rear suspension clunk

Found the cause of my rear suspension clunk. Scary to think I was driving like this. They only lasted 4 years, about 15k miles.

Here’s a video of what I am talking about:

I just ordered a set of these. Has anyone had experience with them?

Polyurethane Rear Upper Shock Bushings from Simply Performance

l Don't know about those in particular, but l assume they are much the same as the rear kit l make.
only note l can make is regarding the damper mount bushes thickness. If OEM thickness you will find the top nut will require just a little more torque than listed to seat them correctly. This is due to the increased shore hardness in comparison to the factory "foam" and is only an issue on CATS cars because of the lower torque listed for the top nut.
l reduced the thickness of my own slightly to match the factory torque spec requirement in the seating of them.

I didn’t know he was making them for the rear as well. I just shot him a PM. I would definitely prefer his.

I was able to cancel the order. I’m getting Steve’s mounts instead.

I’m guessing that’s too soft?

It wasn’t as bad as you would expect. I thought I had a loose item in the trunk or a loose bumper cover.

Hey Gian

When I changed over to Wayne's front mounts I figured it was a good time to do the rear mounts. Wayne had me contact, Steve Baxtor, for the rears which are on par with Wayne's mounts probably because they worked/formulated them together. I honestly couldn't be happier with the quality and results. Steve, is a great guy to deal with good luck.

No I think it should be fine. I think baxtors are shore 60? So not much difference. Should help getting the CATS shocks torque on the nut correct maybe.

Well in any case, I was able to cancel the purchase with Simply Performance and bought a set from Baxtor.

I prefer supporting what a fellow forum member has developed.

Steve (Baxtor) priced them at $160 AUD, which is around $108 USD. Quite reasonable in my opinion.
