A fresh breath of life...
a makeover for her coat.
A month ago I sent my car in for a new paint job which was direly needed as the clear coat was failing all over.
I was set-back $1400 in the deal. The jag is getting a new paint job as well as the window trim redone and the wheels. The guy also fixed the dings and dents, any and all damage, and he even fixed my headlight which was loose because of a broken tab.
It's taken a month and was delayed because of unexpected complications with the car and unexpected island wide flooding. I'll pick up Cleo this Friday.

Here is the now: (Keep in mind the car is still in the shop)
In this first picture he applied a clear coat so he could see any imperfections. Later he sanded the car again to correct any if there were any. He then applied the final clear coat, wet sanded, polished and is tomorrow going finish detailing the car.
I swear this guy is a miracle worker.

I have a couple of old classics that need repainting. It would be cheaper for me to ship them to you and back than having them painted in Southern California. It looks like he did a very thorough job, and removed trim rather than mask as a first rate paint job should be done. The car looks great already, and if your painter wants to vacation in Los Angeles, I'll make sure he has plenty of work while he's here, and I'll give him a paint booth.

The painter sent me these while I was at practice.
I can't wait to get my hands on it tomorrow. I'll possibly get some awesome pictures on Labor Day. I'll be driving to a waterfall and river paradise here in the island.
Looking at these pictures, even the Revolvers look great. Maybe if I add some spacers they'd look badass.

Yes, at least one lady will go along, and who knows how many will come back with me. I am really excited.
My grandfather called me today to tell me that all of the control arm bushings (all 8 of them) arrived via mail today. The UPS website tracker says that my shock mounts are ahead of schedule and should arrive tomorrow instead of Tuesday. So if tomorrow I can get all of those parts installed the car should ride like a dream and just in time for my labor day drive through winding mountain roads. I'll probably buy the springs and shocks later this year, but first I'll deal with that darn octupus hose.
I am extremely glad I kept this one. The black, while harder to maintain, is just more elegant to my eyes. This car is nearly restored to new now.

UPS had a snafu with my delivery addess; my shock mounts will arrive on Wednesday. I'll be changing the mounts and all 8 control arm bushings next weekend instead.
Does anyone know where I can buy the fender leapers and wheel badges? Mine aren't in the best of conditions.
I've got the Jag! Finally we are reunited! It looks better in the flesh!
I did notice that my headlights set in auto mode are now staying on when the car is off. A minor inconvenience.
I had to reset the windows and I got a Restricted Performance which after about 30 minutes of driving cleared after the battery charged back up again completely.
That headlight thing is still baffling me.
