Front ABS harness problem -Resolved
I think my front ABS harness has a short in it as every time I make a hard left turn, the ABS light comes on. A year ago, I had the issue and the dealership said the sensor and harness was bad. The warranty company would not let them replace the harness so they just changed the sensor. The light did stop coming on for awhile but now its back so I think I'll change the harness. To take it back to the dealer to find the problem means a $100 diagnostic charge plus the $100 waranty deductible, so I'll take the chance it's the $50 harness. If I'm wrong, I added $50 to the cost of fixing it.
Does anyone know where the harness attaches to?

On my 97 the left side is just aft of the windshield washer fill neck and under the brake lines. It is easier to remove the connector assembly from the mounting clip and then unplug. The right side is easier to see on the wheel well in front of the suspension mount. Of course, yours may be different.
You will have to drive for a few miles before the light goes out, but I don't think you have to have the code cleared.

most of the time it is only the harness and not the sensor. the harness is wire strapped to the upper arm that moves up and down as you drive. what happens to wire after you constantly flex it up and down. yeah it breaks
It was the harness, after changing it, there have been no more warning lights or ABS activation on tight left turns. Brutal is right, the wires just wear out from all the flexing, there was no obvious physical damage.
And yet ext warranty companies want to argue with me. "replace the sensor not the harness." its alot more money and then i get to call back and sell the harness anyway plus the sensor. Oh well
Same thing hapened to me...warranty co would not approve the harness, it was probably the problem all along. The harness was $20, the sensor was $250...stupid warranty rep cost his company a lot of money.....and me too.
