Hello, I cracked my driver side overrider today and ordered a replacement. It looks pretty straightforward to replace, is there anything I should know that any of you know or is there a remove and replace guide? Thanks, here is my car, bought in 2019, has 75K now. Love the Apollos. Background has been MG’s and older Mercedes mostly,
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your 2003 beauty.
You need to get yourself a copy of the workshop manual which will prove invaluable for maintenance tasks -which most on this forum do ourselves. You can get a copy on a well know auction site!
Your overriders are covers that are held on by scrivets and for the best access, you will need to remove the bumper cover. This is a simple unbolting operation but take car not to lose spacer washers from the top of the bumper. These posts may be helpful
Sorry for the late reply-thank you and I decided for the work I should just replace them both. They also each have screws holes from front plates so better off getting rid of those, thank you!
OK everybody, I just followed the instructions and replaced the overriders. Note cheap parts. Went pretty well. Took me 2.5 hrs. I am a total idiot because I put the spacer washers above the nose piece, not underneath, so I need to fix that but that should only take a few minutes. You can tell by the gap in the second picture. Thanks so much for the help, the parts sat for a year and when I opened them I had one that was in the right box but not the right part, so I had to exchange, Finally got around to doing it.
