Default Front Shock Mount SALE

Hey - not sure how long they will be available, but Partsgeek.com has the front shock mounts in stock for $106 each... I just ordered a pair from them for $221 shipped and they appear to still have stock >25 available... hopefully this doesn't violate forum policy but I just thought I would share the info as they never seem to last too long...

I bought mine from there earlier in the year and it is the complete part not a rebuild kit. Also shipping was fast as hell...

Just put my order in. I was going to wait for a month or two, but I can't pass up a bargain like that.

Is there some "easy" way to tell if you need front shock mounts? I have had this bump noise for quite a while now and had some bushings replaced by a local mechanic but noise is still there. I was going to suggest to him to check the shock mounts but does it take as much effort to check them versus just replace them?

Sorry guys, I just bought the last two they had left in stock. They re-order these fairly quickly (within a week or two of selling out), so don't despair.

On the subject of rebuilding these shock mounts, does anyone know of a source for the components that wear out in these? It appears that, save for inserting three rivets in each mount, all one would need is the cushioning material to be able to refurbish any worn mounts. I'd like to give this a try, but I don't know if there's a manufacturer that offers a 'rebuild' kit.

I know I need new ones because I can see them breaking apart (like red dust) all around where the shocks are mounted under the hood on each side over the wheels...

Well I'll be, right you are, >25 in stock. Now I'm curious as to why their site indicated only two left in stock when I checked earlier and ordered, and now they have plenty...

When I first saw that they were in stock this morning, they showed two as well... and then after I ordered them they still showed two in stock... and then a little later they showed >25. Who knows, but I DO know that mine have already shipped since my order this a.m.

One of the retail coupons sites has a 20% off code for Parts Geek orders over $100. Worth a try at checkout.

Code is "magnet".

Magnet expired. I checked.

Either way, without $220, I can't buy it, so I guess I'll have to wait. So sad, I had $350 this morning and then poof, rent!

Doug - look at the top of the mounts - you will see a reddish dust as the foam insert between the plates disintegrates and eventually the front end drops about 1/2inch. Mine also made a nice constant chirp.

CoventryCars - Welsh and I believe PartsGeek both sell repair kits but from what Rev Sam said - the kit was not worth the effort.
