Front Spring Replacement on XK8 convertible
This topic may have been discussed before, however, I'm thinking about replacing the front springs on my 2002 XK8 convertible. The shop said I was about 1-1/2" low in the front end. I don't like the "rake" that the car has due to the weakened front springs, plus the damage that keeps happening to the lower plastic shield every time I go out a driveway. I only want stock replacements and am not interested in the "lowering" spring sets that others have talked about.
Where can I get unused stock replacements (assuming that's possible)? RockAuto seems to have them, but they're supposedly only for cars that were sold in Europe. Is there really any difference in the springs that are on cars sold in Europe versus the US?
Thanks for any help.

Hi,
I ordered a pair of replacement front springs for my 1999 xk8 convertible from Jaguar XK8 and Jaguar XKR Parts and Accessories.
Dave Roch is the person I dealt with, very helpful fellow. Quick shipping. I was planning on installing them today, but the weather was crappy.
The cost was about $425.00 with shipping.
Here is the spring url.

Got my springs from Nalley Jag (a former sponsor of the forum). The price on the stock Jag springs was really good at <$300 shipped. That was last summer. Do a bit of shopping around for the best price. Here's the difference it made --> https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...se-lift-76446/
As I mentioned in the Nose Lift thread, the springs are spec'd and referenced to VIN number so make sure you get the right ones for stock ride and height.
You will want to replace the upper spring pads at the same time. They are shot at over 10 years old.

A good machine shop could make 'em but that would probably cost more.
Thanks for all the info -- from the responses it appears that the springs are the same regardless as to where the car was sold (Europe vs. US).

I've been told both springs don't usually go out at the same time. It's more in the bushings. And mounts. Any truth to this!
I'm in the same boat, needing to get the front raised and the rear seems too high!
