Like many things, getting proper repairs is partly the responsibility of the owner.... most folks know there are a lot of jacklegs in the car repair business. When looking for repairs on a low volume specialty car like an XK, one must do their research or they might get a bad job. Jaguars are not put together like regular cars...to ignore this when fixing things is akin to ordering hash in a third world country.

Speaking of crappy repairs, I noticed that the fuel door on my car didn't close all the way. So while inspecting the little plastic latch I discovered that at one time it had broken and was glued back on with a metallic epoxy. The latch was loose so with a pull it was off. I couldn't dig out the glue so I cleaned everything up and re glued it. Point being, why did the previous owner just replace the damm plastic thing in the first place instead of bunging up the whole thing?
