Default Happy Anniversary

I've had my XK8 for 1 year and have loved every minute. Went hunting on ebay.uk and won a couple of auctions. Found a 7 gauge alloy ring set (has the trip reset ring) and the alloy shift surround. I like the way it looks but, my wife thinks it borders on "pimp my ride". Is it too much? Attached a couple of pictures.

I think it looks good but all that really matters is that You think it looks good.

Looks good to me. Impressed you found one with the trip reset ring. They are not common.

Mine is ringless (MY 2001), but the rings do work. Better on a dark interior, so maybe I'll stick with what I have.

Bottom line? your car, your choice.

I have to disagree with your wife. My 2005 had chrome rings and the alloy shift surround:

These were both standard from the factory on the Final Series. I preferred this trim finish to the plainer look on my earlier 2001 XK8.

My 04 has the factory ones. At first I did not care for them but they have grown on me.

Funny though that I do think the one on the trip reset kind of puts it over the top. It disrupts the flow of the line of gauges. I would keep that one dark like the vent next to it. I think the factory design got that part right.

Just show your wife this. The pimp comments will stop.

That could seriously backfire if she likes it.

Here's how strongly she put it. If you die I am changing it back to stock! BTW, she doesn't like the exhaust. Jags are supposed to be quiet and refined. Not this Jag I say.

Heres mine with the seven rings and the ac ducts done as well. I upgraded the shift knob as well with the Jaguar growler emblem. The gold on the knob matches the XK8 lettering on the passenger airbag wood panel; ( you cant see it in picture). My one year will be in March... still enjoy driving the hell out of it - its my daily driver..
