Default Has anyone wrapped the catalytic converters with heat shielding?

Was wondering if wrapping the cats with heat tape (like ThermoTec tape) would reduce the engine compartment temperature.

So there is a downside to all that Californian sunshine.
No experience of high engine compartment temperatures over here

I'd expect the greater heat source would be the manifolds rather than the cats.
