head rest adjustment
How do you adjust the head rests on a 2005 xk8 coupe? The power adjustment is for up and down. There are slots in the headrest for titling forward and back. I just don't want to force anything.
Thanks!
Thanks!
I just took delivery of my 2001 XK8. The only issue I have is with the headrests. As I understand it the middle button under the seat moves these. I have tried it. I get a noise, but don't see any movement of the headrest. Has anyone else had any issue here. I really don't need to move it up a lot...more need to move the headrest forward since I have to lean the seat back so much to fit into the cockpit at 6'4".

Look in the FAQ section under headrest repairs. In short, the plastic sheathing that holds the cable that adjusts the headrest needs to be shortened. There is a bunch of stuff including a good video by Rev Sam that shows the entire process. It is a pretty straightforward DIY.

I think the initial question was how to adjust the Head Rests foreward and backward, not up and down. I am interested also, I would like to move my Head Rest foreward. It is fine as far as height wise...
Absolutely! If you track back through my earliest posts when I discovered I had the headrest problem on the driver's seat, you will see that most of my questions had to do with that first step of separating the fabric. I had tried the repair two or three times and gave up each time since I couldn't figure it out. Finally I tried one more time and accidentally stumbled on the method. The design is actually pretty brilliant and for quite a while I had thought that the fabric was physically sewn together. It is difficult to explain in words how to disconnect and then reconnect these pieces.

Nevermind. You're right. It is difficult to explain in words.
