Default Headlamp removal help please

OK, I've managed to release the 3 bolts including the bottom b*gg*r after following Rev Sam's wheel arch cover removal video. I'm taking pics at each stage so I'll post the whole thing (including rotating the beam shaper for RH/LHD change and repairing the stripped out bottom bolt bush).
I've got the lamp free but it won't slide out forwards because the headlamp washer gubbins is in the way.
There's a small canister and a very short pipe leading from that to the back of the washer jet assembly.
I'm reluctant to heave and strain too much - can someone please explain where and how to disconnect it?

Steve,

First let me say, I haven't done this!

However, the bodywork manual shows the washer unit must be removed before withdrawing the headlamp:

XK8 - Headlamp Removal (with headlamp wash).pdf

From the second drawing it looks as if the washer is on a bracket and this could be bolted to the headlamp shell.

Thanks Graham, O! for a little more detail on the washer connector. I don't want to break it off because of some 'clever' clip I can't see.
BTW did you find this in the JTIS? A more inscrutable, bloody minded, inaccessible document I've yet to find..

Steve,

No - that's from the XK8 Body guide not the JTIS. I couldn't find a good illustration of the powerwash bracket in the JTIS.

Yes, the search engine is no use (but normal, no criticism)
If you can find the details I'd be most grateful.

Steve;

Try google search with Jag Forum in the search....it is surprising how many things you can find that way in the Forum.

These guys seem to have figured it out:

Jaguar Forum.co.uk • View topic - headlamp washer pump

good luck, I look forward to the photos so I can fiddle with mine.

cheers,

jj

Steve;

Dunno if they are on the forum, but I just noticed that Tech Guide is from 1996 so some of it is going to be out of date for our '04's.....

cheers,
jj

I've sorted the washer thing. It is a right bitch to put back.
If the local garage says the LH dip fix is OK I'll post all the headlamp removal/replace stuff on the new thread, including how to strip off the washer and replace it.
But .. what a complete and unneccesary piece of shyte the job turned out to be.
I suspect that the 'Bumper Off Brigade' have the right idea rather than going through the wheel arch.
