Default Headlight wire harness

Mina Gallery is selling headlight & fog light bulbs that they say are 130 watts. Our H1 bulbs are 55 watts. Can our headlight wires handle almost 3 times the watts of power?

I was looking at the wires that are for the radio and the wires that run under the console and they are a smaller size gauge than I'm use to seeing ie: Corvette's wires or Ford wires.

I would not even chance it. If you want a brighter headlight, get the Sylvania Silverstar Ultra replacement lamps. Very bright, same wattage.

I can't find the Ultra bulbs in H1 that the low beams are. I can find the ST bulbs.Have you seen any H1 Ultra bulbs for sale?

The low beams are really dim. The fog lights are brighter than the projection low beams which surprised me. The high beams are very bright and they are the same bulbs as the low beams but use a metal refelctor.

I think I used the standard SilverStar lamps Hi and Lo with noticable improvement. Have not done the fog lamps yet.

I'm going to get a pair of Silverstars for the low beams Friday. I'll let you know if they improve my night vision.

I bought the OSRAM Silverstar bulbs for the fog lights. I tried to install them once but realized I had to pull the wheels off. So I have been waiting to install them.

I have theHID in the my 06 and the low beams are great.TheHigh's are not impressive, but from a quick glance in the hood it looked like changing the hi-beam bulbs may be a challenge. I just hadthe passenger HID go out and they just put a whole lamp assembly in.

I may get to the fogs in the next couple of days and let you know how they turn out (will try to post pics if possible)

I finally found some time to play with the car. I installed the OSRAM Silverstar bulbs. I was really hoping to get a nice white color like the low beams. As you can see from the photos, I didn't get what I wanted. The first photo is the original bulbs, and the second two are the OSRAM Silverstar Ultra. I do think they are put out at least 50% more light, and they definitely throw quitea bit farther.

I also installed the XKR grill. So far I think I am happy with the new look.

You have an XKR. I believe you have HID low beams. You are not going to find a halogen bulb that's going to be as white as your HID bulbs.

If you had the OEM halogen low beam/dip bulbs installed then you would notice the fog lights with the Silverstar bulbs installed would look brighter than the OEM halogen bulbs.

GreenJewel, Its an XK8, I recently installed the XKR grill in the front.

I saw numerous ads for different H1 bulbs at different color temps. I thought with some of the advertised bulbs I would get a whiter light... But alas I did not.

o2, compared to the halogen fogs, you can tell it is certainly a 'whiter' light, though may not be in the 5000k range that you were hoping for. I think it looks good, a nice contrast between the two. Wheres the pic of the xkr grille? Would like to see it.

You put the silverstars in the low beam or fog lights?
