Well, I did 1-3 and never got to 4. After I press "phone" and then press C/TA the system shows "no phone" and goes back to CD. The only change I see while continuing pressing C/TA is the change in TA / TP.
But I'll go and give it another try.
I like a challenge and setting up Jaguar Bluetooth is always a challenge.

If the Radio/CD is switched OFF, how is it going back to CD? Getting TA/TP means the radio must be ON. Press the ON/OFF button to switch it off before trying to pair (with Ignition in position II, switching the radio off puts the aerial down).

Wait a minute... I don't have a navigation so if I switch off the radio I also automatically switch off the small screen #7.

I don't have Nav either. I'll take some pics of the sequence to show you what should appear and where.

Graham, you did a fantastic job! (If you don't mind I'd post a link on the Russian Jaguar forum.) Well, it helped me to realize that there was no bluetooth in my car, may be because it is a convertible, I don't know... My mistake was that I thought that the microphone was hidden like in BMW.
Anyway, thank you very much for your help!!! I owe you one!

PS. My BMW is not so boring cause it's Alpina B5.

Both Coupe and Convertible 'S' models were factory fitted with Bluetooth.

The Convertible microphone is probably on the header rail - one of the US 'Victory' owners will be able to confirm.

A convertible in Moscow - that must be challenging in the winter.

May be.. But pressing "phone" with the radio switched off gives no result what so ever - nothing appears on the screen..
Moscow is way too polluted for convertibles anyway... I only open the roof at least 10 miles away from the city. And of course I have a "winter" car.

Default No response from phone button for bluetooth

I have a 2006 xk8 Victory Edition. I have tried every suggestion in the threads to pair a phone through bluetooth to the car with no success. First of all, with the radio/cd off, in ignition II, when I push the phone button, nothing happens. Nothing happens if I repeatedly push the clear button, and nothing happens when I attempt to enter the code from the keypad. If the radio is on, when I push the phone button I get the "no phone" message for a period then it goes back to radio or cd...and I get no response to pushing the clear button once, multiple times, or holding it with the "no phone" message and cannot enter anything from the keypad.

Can anyone steer me in the appropriate direction?

I've got my iphone 4 paired now,
but when I play tunes on my phone,
the sound still comes out of my phone.
Is there an additional step after pairing the phone
to get the sound to come out of the car speakers?

thanks
md

The factory system only provides the phone bluetooth profile , no audio profile for music.

dang - thanks bakntyme -
you mention factory system -
does that imply that there is an aftermarket solution?
probably a new head unit?

Members on this forum have posted many aftermarket solutions, including new head units and add-on Bluetooth adapters. But probably the easiest, cheapest, and most reversible solution (though maybe not the highest quality) is to use a cassette adapter that either allows Bluetooth or headphone jack connection through the cassette tape slot of your factory radio.

Default Phone connection

Hi,

I'm new to this site & a new Jaguar owner.

I also cannot get a phone connection to wirk.
Car is 2005 XJ6 Sovereign with sat nav display.
When I press the phone button the screen tells me no phone is fitted, my phone however has paired with & says it is connected to Jaguar bluetooth but the display still says no phone fitted, any ideas?

Exclamation XK8 Jaguar won't pair with iPhone 12 Pro

I bought my Jag new off the showroom floor. My phone always worked with any iPhone I had. There was never any problem pairing it.
Now I have an iPhone 12 Pro, and I get "no service" and "phone" and cannot pair it anymore.

I am getting out of the thread of messages that if I press the C/TA button several times before pressing the phone button, I can continue with the pairing? And where is the C/TA button? Then someone else mentioned hitting the CLEAR button several times, and that worked too.

Is that the FIX for pairing an iPhone 12 Pro with my 2006 XK8 Jag???

Hope someone is still watching this thread. It's pretty old. Thanks!

Welcome to the forums PJ Ki,

I've removed your other post on this same topic in General Tech Help. Please do NOT multiple post the same question across forums.

Two things relevant to your issue:
1. you may have got the BT locked to an earlier phone or phones. Try using the 'clear' procedure discussed here.
2. it's possible iPhone 12 may not be compatible with this old Jaguar BT system. I would think this unlikely although functions will almost certainly be limited to making or receiving calls through BT.

Graham
