HELP - how to remove the fuel line valve?
I went over to Dover (UK) yesterday to get my car Terracleaned, but we just couldn't work out how to remove the valve on the fuel line (see photo). We tried every possible combination of pulling, pushing and twisting, but to no avail.
Does anyone know how to get it off?
Incidentally, the guy was very nice and clearly embarrassed I had had a wasted journey. He said he'd done about 50 cars and this was the first time he'd been stumped. Apparently, most cars have an obvious Schrader valve on the fuel line with a blue plastic cap. He did offer to do my engine free of charge once we had sorted the problem out.

I think you are looking for a disconnect tool that slips into the line between the pipe and the fitting.

There is a little spring in there that you need to push out. Have actually just made a tool this weekend. I used a 19mm od plastic pipe, actually from the same pipe where I made the tank fuel line release tool of some time ago ;-), and it has a wall thickness of about 1.3mm. Just cut it open, so you can get it around the fuel line, and push it in the connector, where you should feel a click (or something), then you can wiggle the fuel line out carefully.
