History of 2001 XKR LD51MVC
Bit of a long shot, but I have a swapped my 2013 Toyota Aygo for a 2001 Jaguar XKR. A decision I certainly don't regret. The car has been checked out by a JEC recommended garage and said its all good.
However, I have virtually no service history with it. All I have is a Warranty Claim form which shows what garages it went to from 2002 to 2007 for warranty work so have emailed all them and have had some luck getting service history for 2004, 2006 and 2007.
I know Stratstone spend £4000 on it in 2003 to get it ready for re-sale which seems a huge amount and the previous owner has been very helpful and am waiting for the garage she bought and had it serviced at to get back to me.
However, was just wondering if there are any previous owners out there who know/owned this car who could enlighten me to its history.
Thanks

Good luck with your search. I have had the opposite problem in that my car came with a full service history, but when I contacted the dealers to get some information about work done they had no record of the car. The reason is because their records relied upon the number plate, rather than the VIN number and previous owners had private plates, so my current number meant nothing to them. I am sure they could have been a little more helpful if they had wanted, but it would have taken them time with no financial return.

Although I always make sure any car I buy has a full Service History, there's two things I do a.s.a.p. after purchase:
1. submit form V888 to DVLA requesting details of all former keepers
https://www.gov.uk/request-information-from-dvla
Under Data Protection Act, they are cautious about the information they will provide but if you include the phrases .......
(a) information about all previous keepers for a vehicle now registered in your name
(b) required to verify some inconsistencies in the vehicle records
........ this should ensure you obtain a full list of names, addresses and dates.
2. ask my local Jaguar Dealer for a printout from the Direct Dealer Warranty system for the original specification and list of all warranty work. You may be asked to provide proof of ownership such as the V5C UK Registration Certificate.

This is the Warranty section from the Jaguar Dealer printout for my XK:
(click on the image to enlarge it)
This gives:
1. Repair Date (green box)
2. Causal part - the P/N of the parts or parts replaced (red box)
3. Distance - mileage at warranty claim (blue box)
From this information, I've built up the warranty as a section in my vehicle history record:

Warrant isn't chargeable so there are no invoices that can be obtained and the only missing information is the name of the tech who carried out the work.
