Very nice glad to hear that these cars can get that kind of miles on them my 1999 has 32k miles now I need to drive it more but winter is coming and it will sit in my shop next to my vet for the winter. I am driving it less till I do the tensioners and water pump this winter and plan to put more miles on it next year. If my motor goes I plan to put a LS/LSA engine in it but we shall see. Thanks for posting Regards

It’s a great car, I have enjoyed every mile, and I still do. The elegant curve lines work better for me than the sharper edge styles you see nowadays, and next to that the interior with the wood and how its styled is still pleasing to my eyes. The modern Jags just don’t’ work for me, great cars, great performance, great technique, but they miss that something. Of course the drivetrain/suspension updates made have contributed to the enjoyment, but it’s the total package that does it.
Am still using/trusting my car as a daily driver for my work, and although I had my share of issues (mostly the known ones), if maintained well I guess they can be pretty reliable.
PS of the 400.000 km, 380.000 where driven by me, and thanks for sympathy concerning fuel costs here in the EU, but please don‘t remind me ;-)

Wow, ok, that demolishes my recent head trip about reaching 98,700 miles and selling car to get a convertible. Agree with AVOS about styling inside and out, and driving the car feels like an event, and it looks great next to new cars and for acceleration it pulls strong and keeps up very well.
Daily driver for me, only 5,000 miles per year unless I do more pleasure runs through the mountains.
Very encouraging, thanks AVOS

Looks great Avos! Love my XKR as well - can you tell us anything about the car with that much mileage? Does it burn any oil or use more oil between changes?
This is much better than any Road and Track "Long term test drive" tests ever!
Any other comments you may have?

At 150,000 miles (last couple weeks), I may consume about 1/2 quart of oil between changes, if that much. Frankly, the drop or two that leaks every so often from the valve cover gaskets that I smell from time to time when it hits the manifold may be the source. With all of its foibles and even in comparison to my 5.0L XKR coupe, I still love it, love driving it, and feel that "sense of occasion" every time I get behind the wheel.
