The security module 'bleeps' when locking and unlocking. Sounds perfectly normal

There are 2 noises?
One is a CONFORMATION and the other is an ERROR tone.

Which one is it?

Default My 99XK8 rudely burps if I left something open

I get an audible rude burp when I turn on the car alarm if I’ve left a door open, trunk/boot open, bonnet up, glovebox etc. Basically car seems to be telling me that I’ve forgotten to secure the car properly.

Default Glovebox - Maybe I was thinking of Dad’s Merc

Hmmm,

Just checked glovebox. Nope, I was mistaken! Sorry. Probably confused with my late Dad’s Merc.

There are two... Right all clear and secure tone is a nice little chirp. One chirp (on mine) is locked/activated. 2 chirps, deactivated/unlocked... The,,, something is wrong/open/unsecure is a much longer weird beeeep, noise.

Will chirp and lock with the top down, tho.

Oh,,, and, coinciding lights flash, with Chrips one and two

If it is the 'car not secure ' tone triggered by the boot, bonnet or doors not being closed, you'd also see that in the message center during normal operation.
