Default How to check XKR Fuel Pressure?

How do you get access to check fuel pressure on the (2001) XKR?. Is there an accessible Schroeder valve that does not require removing the supercharger components?

Thanks

An OBDII reader can check the fuel pressure or at least mine does.

I have a “Blue Driver” ODB2 code reader, does not read fuel pressure. What readers are out there that read all the jag codes? Under $300 or so..😊

Don't know about accessibility of the schrader valve for the XKR for 01 (easy on the XK8), but there is a OBD PID for this. Unfortunately, it doesn't work since there appears to be no sensor for it until 4.2-land (03 and beyond).

Note: by 'not work', for me, in past measurements it always indicates 30 kPa (not psi), day, night, engine on, engine off.

I just have an iCarsoft i800. It was on offer at the time about £40 or so. Anyway I was recomended it for the Jaguar. When I hook it all up you can look at the fuel pressure in real time.

On my 04’ XKR, I hooked up a fuel pressure tester to the Schrader valve on the left side fuel rail. There’s a blue cap on it. It’s towards the front left of the engine. It’s easy to get to.

It might - I believe it does. You have to get into an area in the app (connected to the plug device via blue tooth) that lists EVERYTHING that the OBD is reading then set that reading as a display...

Awesome, I will check it out.

Meanwhile I found the fuel rail Schroeder valve (blue cap) on the left front of the engine, under the hoses but accessible.
Fuel pressure jumps higher at start (both pumps?) and is holding steady at around 40 psi at idle.

are you reading pressure from a 4.0 or 4.2 ?

My icarsoft LR-1 does not show fuel pressure on my 2002 XKR (4.0 L)

Only pump #1 is supposed to run at start up. Pump #2 takes over if pump #1 has failed. They only time both run is at WOT. Have a look at this thread for more info and how to test your pumps are working:-

BTW this only applies to 4.0 XKRs. No other model has two pumps and only the 4.2 can read fuel pressure over OBD.
