Hello!! Hubby is outside ready to replace the ram pistons on both sides of my xk. He has got it all torn apart but can't figure out how to release the piston from the mount. Please help. Thanks.

Another question....will there be excess air? Do we need to bleed it somehow? Thanks.

The system is self bleeding. It may cycle slowly the first few times until all the air gets out though.

I found the answer about bleeding the hydraulics. But now another problem. All was installed and we went to crank the car to raise the raise. The car won't start. All we get is a click. It cranked earlier today before he started. All we did was changed the two rams. Any ideas on what happened? Thanks again.

I found the answer before seeing your response. Thank you though. I am hoping you are still hanging around to help with the newest problem. I love this car but my goodness....it is ornery.

Any chance the battery is low...perhaps the doors left open overnight while in the midst of the work?

He cranked it just an hour before. He is just now going out to jump it. Something had to really drain that battery fast for it to happen like that. Stranger things have happened i guess. I will let you know in a few minutes. Poor hubby....he really wanted to work on his baby today, not mine.

That did it. It cranked up. Wonder why the battery went dead so fast. Thanks for your fast reply and help. (As always).

It does not take much if a battery is on its way out.
