Default I need interior panel help

I completed my dash light bulb replacement this weekend. I saved money by not buying those Pep Boys LED's like I had planned thanks to those of you that experienced what crap they were, I avoided that headache. In the process though, two things happened. First, my Valet switch was pretty much in pieces when I took off the lower panel under the steering column. IF anyone has a valet switch for a 2002 xkr they wish to sell or donate, I'm in the market for one. Second, the left side of that same panel doesn't seem to want to stay snapped in. When I install the 8mm bolt at the bottom, the top pops out on the left above the valet switch. Does anyone know a fix for this? When I took the panel off, the retaining clip came out with the panel. I removed it and installed it back in the dash. THe panel feels like it snaps into the clip but pops on when I secure the bottom. Is it as simple as needing a new retaining clip? is this common? I hate loose anything! My dash vents are squeaking and that is my next project. I can see where the vents are sticking up on the ends and are no longer glued in or secure.

There is a lip at the very bottom of the panel that the panel slides into before you screw it down. Are you engaging the panel in that lip?

You will probably find your valet switch has just seperated into 2 parts, they all do this when you pull the top section out of the panel clips as you do not get much spare loom for the sudden release, just clip it back together...

Happens 80% of the time to me and I know it is going to do it, never had a switch fail after I have snapped it back together
