Default Ignition switch door

So... is the door on the ignition switch that closes when you remove your key supposed to close ALL THE WAY... mine closes, but if I shine a light on it and look it seems to not be closing all the way - there is a gap at the top?

The door (or cover) seems to close and cover around 60-70% of the opening, but not all of it --- is that normal or should it completely cover the opening? Can someone take a look at theirs and let me know?

The reason I ask is that I am trying to trace down a small parasitic drain on my battery (it shows around 56ma after an hour or so and I think it should only show 30ma).

Thanks for your help!!

Chris, mine seems to cover the opening completely. Like you I have a small drain, but some WD40 on the switch and the click when I take the key out made all the difference.

I've read a number of posts indicating it should close, suggestion was a little lube of choice. I looked at mine and there is no flap, they key actually pushes a post in, this post does not come all the way flush when the key is removed, fyi
