Default Inevitable Green Shower! Rear windows still down

I got the green shower couple of weeks ago but I've been out of the country working, so I'd not got round to addressing the repairs until now. I've read about Gus working on an uprated latch hose which should eliminate future showers, so does anybody think it'll require the relief valve upgrade as well? Another problem arose was the rear quarter windows are still down, so I need to get them up until the repairs can be carried out. Anybody got any thoughts on this?

Since you are replacing hoses now, I would think just doing the relief valve upgrade would be enough, others will chime in if that is enough or not.

You can raise the rear windows by shorting the relays in the trunk. Sorry can't provide a link at the time but a search should provide results.

Relief valve upgrade is a relatively easy task. Highly recommended.

to raise quarter windows, pull out the up relays. need to release clip and then grab the fuse with pliers to pull out

I managed to get the windows up after pushing the rams fully out, then the microswitch allowed them to operate. Good job as we're due some thunderstorms for next week. Now I can see where the hoses run it should be easy to replace once I get new hoses. Thalls to all all advice. Where would we be without the information and help from everybody on the forum. Thanks also to Gus for info on his website. Most informative.

I'd recommend Top Hydraulics out of Oregon. With my '99 XK8, both rams were seeping. I sent T.H both rams as well as header hydro latch for better than new update. In addition I purchased the complete hose kit. On my '99 while time consuming, I did not find them hard to replace. The lines are made out of Kevlar, tested for 100 x's the pressure your pump can produce. As they are thinner, ease of install in tight areas ( like drive kick panel near fuse box) was a bonus. I now drive top down free of mind. Lots of luck. Rich
