Inside rear view mirror buzzing

Inside rear view mirror buzzing
My '01 XKR convertible's windshield rear view mirror has a vibration/buzzing sound as soon as I get underway, if I grab the backside of the mirror it goes away. I replaced the two trim pieces (covers) that attach to the mirror to see if that would solve the problem, but it did not. I believe the problem is in the mirror assembly itself. Has anyone encountered this problem? Any suggestions?

I had a buzzing / rattling from the rear view mirror on my 2001 which was maddening.
Turned out to be a round piece of spring metal which had come loose from where the mirror head pivoted on the bracket. Nothing appeared to be broken. I took it off and the noise went away.
