Default Intake Torque specs, what are they? 03 XK

I have looked for a good bit and can't find any pdf or the like on the site for bolt torque specs for the intake I have to put back on my car, the specs for the TB, all that stuff. Really anything of the like for any bolt on this damn car.

JTIS or the engine repair course manual.

No one except maybe Brutal or Motorcarman is going to know this without referencing the above references.

It's far safer for you to look it up than to depend on someone else to transcribe it accurately. Even if they did, how would you know?

They are likely close.

JTIS download link is in the stickies.

Engine manual is in various links of posts by Motorcarman.

The advanced search is much more useful than the quick search.

It is hard to find some things here, there is SO much to sift through, diff descriptions, or I don't know the right names for things. I am finding that googling things is easier at times.

Now are those specs I am finding for the 8 bolts that go in THE TOP of the black plenum that holds everything on the intake down set up. The stuff I look at is not that specific.
Those little bolts do look like they would not handle much.

When I reinstalled my manifold I installed all the bolts first (finger tight) for proper alignment of the manifold I then snugged them all down then torque them to specs. Hard to see if the bolt was cross threaded but I hope you did not mess the threads up.

Red face

MY FAULT, MY FAULT, I appologise I set the Torgue wrench incorrectly it was in KGS!!!
So I converted the 20NM to 15ftlbs and redid the inlet manifold torqued down and they are now OK, except I will need to get a new bolt tomorrow and HOPE that the threads are OK and the new bolt will torque down OK.

So SORRY to have been such an alarmist, but you know how it feels when things go wrong!!

Please remember that almost every torque wrench is accompanied
by instructions that specify the usable range of the wrench is
between the bottom 20 percent and the top 20 percent of the
nominal range.

A 250 ft/lb 1/2 inch torque drive wrench would not be suitable for the fasteners
being discussed.

Well I have mine in and all buttoned down. Fired right up. No leaks that I can tell. I had a check engine light when I shut it down to do the repairs, weeks later with batt undone, fired it right up and light back on. Still runs fine but will check that later. The black airbox intake tube from air box to TB, in the accordion area has small holes, maybe air reading are a bit off??@!?!?!?!?!?
