Dash lights on the gauges/speedo etc are ALWAYs on. Even when headlights are in auto off i.e it's a bright day and the headlights are hence off. Or, even with lights switched all off the dash light does not go out.

But every now and again the dashlights illuminating the gauges/speedo just go off - even if it's dark outside and headlights are turned fully on (not auto). ie The headlights are switched to on and illuminate but the dash light is not.

The bizarre thing is that it when this does happen (not every time I go out, it's random), it nearly always happens about 40-50 minutes into a journey.

Driving me nuts!
