Default Jaguar XK8 2001 Convertible Flood while parked

Hello

My car has witnessed some flood while parked.
water has gone insides, reached the carpet level only and has been dried the ne t day.
Surpringly enough, to me at least, the spare tire well was full of water , under the cover only.

The god news is: the front seats and carpets were removed since upholstery team was working on the car when this happened
the flood is from rain water.
No signs of water entering the enginge, transmission.

I did not try to start the car or insert the key before performing a full clean up inside.

I need your help in highlighting what could be the potential electrical/mechanical issues that could go wrong? What should I look out for?

The car was under the custody of the workshop when this has happened and the the car has only a third party cover.

Well looked after XK8 2001 convertible

Do you mean that water has leaked in, or that the car was partially submerged in flood water?

All you can do, IMO, is to ensure all the electrical bits, especially in the trunk, are dry. And then see if it starts and runs. I'm not sure where you are, but around here insurance companies simply total flooded cars. So many flood cars have continuing histories of electrical gremlins after being flooded. I do wish you the best of luck.

Behind the spare is the main junction box between the battery and the vehicle wiring harness. Additionally, depending on the depth of the water, you'll want to check the electronics for the power antenna, stereo, Nav (if equipped), convertible top, all located on the right side of the trunk compartment.

on the left side (driver) near a a-pillar and unter the seats you have electric components. check if they are dry top.

if so, youll have to give it a try and start it up

Okey so the car has started and running smoothly.
Everything has been dried after removing the carpets and anti corrosion applied.
All the fuses boxes have been inspected and dried.

I noticed the following:
Security locking module was damaged by water and it will need to be replaced.
Parking Aid module was also damaged

Issues I am currently facing:
1) Doors do not lock/unlock with the key (could it be a battery issue being lower than 14? Haven’t checked the battery after car being parked for 2 weeks)
2) backlight is not working (all other lights, signals do work)
3) Driver seat motor is working, however not the passenger seat.
Could point 1-2 be connected to the damaged security locking module?
What should I look out for to fix the passenger seat? Could it be a module problem?

Finally I haven’t tried to operate the convertible, not sure If I should give it a try.

Would appreciate any help/advice at this point.

Thanks
Fouad
