Default Just Bought 2003 XK8

Just bought 2003 XK8. The Wheels and Tires were stolen when car was on the Lot. Dealer had a non running 1997 XK8 so he put the Wheels (17") on the 2003. I have been shopping for set of original 18" wheels but it's not as easy as I thought it would be. Any Member have a set to sell? Also as you can see in Pictures cars has Limited Edition Badges on both Sides. I can't find any information about a 2003 Limited Edition Model. Badges may have been added by a previous owner. Any thoughts.

Congrats on the new car.

As soon as I saw the pictures, I thought, I didn't know 2003's were available with Revolvers (your 17" wheels).

Wheels should be relatively available and not too terrible. I'd find a set you like, either OEM or aftermarket (like Coventry) and choose the 18". I think the 20s are just too much for the X100, however, its it all personal preference. All X100 wheels should be easy to find and probably run $250-$400 per for a refurbished-- new will be a lot more.

I'm not aware of a 2003 LE, but I am no expert. Can you post a picture of your VIN plate (has VIN and Assembly date) and driver side sill plate. That may offer clues. Additionally, Jaguar Heritage is very helpful (there is even a ford site that can get your cars build sheet, free and instantly). Also, is the car a 5 or 6 speed (add one to the number on the left of the J Gate)?

Best!

I have spent the last 3 days looking for OE Wheels without any luck. There are several sights that say they have them but when you call they are not available. Still looking if anyone has any suggestions.

Car is 6 Speed.

Yeah the Limited Edition badges are just an ebay item added for "flair" I guess. I would take them off.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I may have found a set of wheels similar to the 18's on the Tampa Craigslist. I will remove the "Limited Edition" Badges. I looked at the Ford Build Sheet. It doesn't mention TPMS. With all the other features it would seem this would be standard. I found a Factory Radio at a Salvage Yard. I removed the Aftermarket Radio to check the wiring. The original plug is still in the car. It looks like the Speaker Wires were pulled from the plug to hook up the Aftermarket Radio. Anyone know where I might find a picture of the back of the plug to figure out where the speaker wires go in the plug.

TPMS was not offered until a few years later.

Make sure you write the serial number of the stereo before install. You may need the security code to enable it.

Also note, the factory stereo will not just slip in like the aftermarket. You will need to remove the console. There is a YouTube video on this by ReverendSam.

Best.

As for wiring, take a look at the sticky thread howto or do a search. The info should be on the forum.

Best!

The speaker wires were part of the white head unit plug for the standard set up but with premium set up they originate at the amp in the boot/trunk. Have you checked if there is an amp back there.
The relevant wiring diagram will detail pin/plug positions of various wires.

Lose the aftermarket badges. They really detract from the car....

Congrats, that is a fine looking car. Once you get your wheels on there and those badges off if will be near perfect. A lot of car for the money.

Got those Badges off. I don't know what kind of glue they used but I like to have a Bottle.

Wheels and Tires are on the way. Should have them here Tues or Wed.

Radio should arrive about the same time.

I had oil changed (Mobil 1). I ordered new Air Filter. I was thinking of changing Belt because I have know idea how old it is. Probably change Fuel Filter also. Anything other suggestions for maintenance?

Antifreeze is Green. Should I worry about this? Cap says it should be Orange.

Got new 18 "Wheels and Tires. If anyone in South Louisiana needs 17" Wheels I will sell for $50 per wheel.

I would recommend doing a flush and chemical treatment and then a full with Dexcool.

It's in the shop now because I blew hose in the driveway. I asked to check for gel in old hoses. If they find any they will do chemical flush.
