Default Just got a 2005 XKR! Four questions

Greetings All - I just got a 2005 XKR with 63K on it. I couldn't be happier!! I owned a Jag several a while back, a 94 XJ8 which gave me no end of trouble. And after driving a 69 280SL, an 01 M3, and a 07 CLK63 AMG, the Jag was still my favorite car to be in. They have a feel like no other, even when they are fighting you

So last week, I bought a 2005 XKR convertible. It is simply the most beautiful car I've ever seen or been in. And it drives like nothing else. Wow!

Four quick questions for the group (help on any would be much appreciated):

Wheel emblems -- the green center emblems on the 18" chrome wheels are really faded. I see multiple options on ebay. Are there cheap knockoffs or are they all about the same? You can get a set of 4 for about 50 bucks, or you can bay 25 bucks apiece. But they might all be the same.

Emblem on trunk release -- there is just a black button on the trunk that you push in. Am I correct in assuming that all Jaguars have the cat badge there? Any idea how to find it, or am I off to the dealer?

Trunk struts -- the trunk is very heavy to lift. I'm assuming that's just bad struts. Are these easy to find?

What's everyone's favorite place to go for parts online? I don't remember anymore where I bought stuff for my old Jag, but I'm sure it's all changed anyway. Thanks everyone! I'm sure I'll be chatting with you!

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Parts supply is a big deal for me as I do most of my own work. As you would expect, there are different places that are best for certain parts. SNG Barrett for R-Performance brake rotors (very pricey as OEM), Tire Rack for brakes and tires, JPAM (Gaudin Jaguar)in Las Vegas and Coventry West (Atlanta) for OEM parts and Coventry West for used parts, CTSC in Calif for ZF tranny oil and PM stuff. The wheel caps can be had at Coventry West in various colors. There is also Motorcars LTD, Jagbits and Welsh to fill out the spectrum. Coventry West and Motorcars LTD go the extra mile by making custom improved parts and rebuilding to a high quality level to really support its customers.I have used them all and highly recommend them.

Default Thanks!!!

I'll tell you, it's forums like these that make it possible for someone to own one of these beautiful, but occasionally temperamental machines, and now have to stress about it too much. Thank you so much for all the advice, gang. I'm going to start ordering stuff tonight!

Default Struts for Boot (Trunk)

I recently replaced the struts in the boot of my convertible. Got them on e-Bay from:
eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

I ordered the 'or equal' struts for the boot from Autozone and they work fine. The outsourced rotor supplier to UK Jaguar was Centric and they sell very high quality rotors per the Jaguar print for low prices. OEM brake pad performance can be Exceeded by UK EBC red pads from their central warehouse in Las Vegas. Go with K. Westra's idea on the boot button. These XKR 150's are really sweet, aren't they? Enjoy yours.

Re: Trunk Release Emblem

These are self-adhesive and will fit on your black release button perfectly. He has them in BRG and black as well.

The link MediaBob gave you is the best for the trunk release button. I got one and it's and exact match.
Jaguar Wheel Badge Set Center Cap Wheel Motif 1988 2012 Green | eBay
As for the wheel center caps Welsh has them, to styles 4 for about $14 but they are not the factory OEM and look cheap
Jaguar Wheel Badge Set Center Cap Wheel Motif 1988 2012 Green Silver | eBay
or 4 for about $70 and they are OEM.
