Just Purchased now what
I have owned a 1997 XJ6L for 20 years and am selling it. However, I just purchased a pristine 1997 XK8 with 20,000 miles. That many miles are great, except I am worried about the seals and other things that might go wrong since it has not been driven. Any suggestions would be beneficial. I could not find a mechanic in Albuquerque for my X300, so more than likely, I will be doing the work myself.
The only thing I noticed that might be concerning is that once you get near 80, there seems to be a humming noise from below the car. Since I had the six-cylinder, I might not just be used to the power and the growl of the V8. Again any suggestion would be great.
Thanks, guys, and I look forward to helping others resolve issues as they arise.

All you can do is check /change the fluids particularly the anti freeze and a proper flush.
New thermostat, aux belt. check transmission fluid but you should not need a filter at 20,000, worth changing the fuel filter too .
then just drive it and pray
