Default Lambo doors

I was thinking of installing lambo doors on my 99- XK8. Has anyone done this and are there any issues with them. I'm open to suggestions. Thanks guys

Issues with Lambo doors - mechanically - if you find an after market company that knows what they're doing, probably none. If I recall there's a company called Vertical Doors something - that specialize on scissor doors.

Aesthetically - if I may say so - don't do it. Lambo doors belong in Lamborghinis - not Jags. I know - to each his own - but try run a poll and I think the majority of the members here would agree with me ....

Anyway - good luck .....

On a serious note, the only issue I can see is the door glass that goes down a little while the doors open. A good kit should keep the feature and kits open the doors normally a little ways before going upward. Actually many kits allow the door to be opened normally as well as vertically.

I don't have strong feelings either way except that it seems kinda gimmicky. I also wonder if it makes it easier? harder? to get in and out of the car. But if you like them then go for it (you only live once).

Too true! While you are adding the lambo doors be sure to go for the carbon fiber hood and plenty of large letter "R" to stick all over the car.

Default Lambo door pictures

An individual on Craigslist from Kansas City, Mo. is advertising a Jag w/lambo doors, and has a picture album attached for one's viewing.
Gives you a view of what Lambo doors look like.

I think it'll also make your car pretty worthless. That is certainly a mod that will depreciate the value of any car.

I prefer originality or sympathetic upgrades and the Lambo-door thing sure doesn't fit in either category. I'm glad you decided against the mod!
