Any leak in the AC system will require replacement of the leaky part and pulling the system down to at least 25 inches of mercury. Then turn off the valve from the vacuum pump and allow the the vacuum to suck in the new refrigerant. You will need a scale under the refrigerant can to put in the proper amount. Do you have a guage set for monitoring pressures and to connect the refrigerant can? Unless you have the tools I would recommend taking it to a good shop. Good luck!
