Left tail light and rear side markers and trunk lites
The left tail light and the rear side lights and trunk lights do not work in this 2000 XKR I just purchased. The backup, fog, and signal lites do work on that side. I have ordered new ford sockets for the side marker lights but it does not seem like they are getting power. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks Hal

Hal,
Here's the relevant section of the 2000 electrical guide:
Fuse F21 (5A) in the trunk fusebox would be my first move since it feeds the LHS tail lamp and the rear side markers (RW red/white wire). I take it you're not seeing any 'bulb fail rear' or similar messages?
The missing trunk lights could be either the switch, or fractured wiring in the loom by the RHS lid hinge.

I will see if that is the problem, but now while checking the light, I ran the battery down and now the check engine light is on. Says knock sensor code. Do I need a new Knock sensor?

I have a beautiful yellow Spitfire, but its wiring is nothing like this Jag, lol
Give the battery a good charge, then check the voltage after an hour or so of resting. If it's lower than around 12.5-12.6V then it may be due for replacement.
Clear the code and see if it returns.

My MGB has a total of 5 fuses, including the in-line for the stereo.
yes, the LHS tail light is out even though the back up and signal works. the fuse layout is not on the to of my fuse box so I have to try and find the correct one. Would this also cause the check engine light to come on with a code of PO 328? Something to do with the knock sensor it says.
OK, you have solved that problem. it was the fuse.I just checked all the 5 amps. one was bad. Now to order a new master window switch and new radio. Yeah. Thanks a bunch, Hal

Highly unlikely, but a failing battery can cause spurious codes to be thrown. Try the simple checks first:- getting at the knock sensors on the R is not a trivial job.
