Default Little different modification question.

So here is a question I haven't seen talked about. Anyone have a diecast version of there car ? I know they make the XK coupe and convertibles in base and R form from various years so Im curious.

I just bought a 1/18 scale XKR convertible that I will repaint and mod to match my real car. Ill post pictures if anyone wants to see when it done.

I know they make a few different model Jaguars but I tend to only play in the 1/18 scale market though years ago I found an identical 1990 euro version XJ6 that was even in the right color.

So let me know, you guys have anything that looks like yours ?

Who makes the one you got, because I haven't found anything pre-made I like yet. I would even consider building a kit if I could find one, but the only one remotely close I found was an old kit of an XKE. I did buy a beautifully done 1/18 Maserati GranTurismo in black, back when I was somewhat interrested in them. Changed my mind about that, haha.

I've got this one on my desk at the office.

You can still find them around, just have to dig deep into the internet, use keywords like 'cabriolet' instead of convertible, and the scale you want (1:43 is the small size)
Blue one - Maisto Diecast 1971 Jaguar XK8 Convertible #31500 Road & Track NIB 1:43 | eBay

black one - Jaguar XK8 Convertible. A good 1/43 model by Vitesse . | eBay

green one - Jaguar XK8 Convertible. A good 1/43 model by Hongwell | eBay

gold coupe - VITESSE 1/43 DIECAST MODEL NO. V 101D JAGUAR XK8 COUPE METALLIC TOPAZ BEIGE NR | eBay

slate gray coupe - VITESSE 1/43 DIECAST MODEL NO. V 101D JAGUAR XK8 COUPE METALLIC TOPAZ BEIGE NR | eBay

red coupe - VITESSE 1/43 DIECAST MODEL NO. V 101D JAGUAR XK8 COUPE METALLIC TOPAZ BEIGE NR | eBay

I have a 1/24 version of my 2002 silver (quartz) XKR that I keep on my desk. I also have a 1/18 XKE roadster (wishful thinking).

Got one identical in color, but I had changed the interior color slightly long before I got my 1:1. And, being in the '90's I had changed the wheels to what was popular....and far more attractive than the "revolvers".

Mark,

Following your recent threads made me think you already were building a kit in 1:1

Hahaha, I had the same thought several weeks ago, around the time I had the hood redone.

Cool OldJag, looks like ya did a nice job.

Maisto makes the 1/18 XK8 and XKR in convertible form only, coupes you will find in smaller scales which been listed.

The XKR's from Maisto only come in Purple or Red so mine will undergo a complete repaint, interior repaint (with carpet added) and I will fill the recess in the decklid where they (diecast) have a emblem like on the nose, replace the painted Jaguar fender badges with proper looking ones and other little details im sure, like the grill.

I have a 73 XKE diecast but havent repainted it yet to match the 74 I owned back in the early 80's (sable and buckskin) and I see a company now makes a 75-77 XJ6C which I have owned 2 of and hope they make one in White with red interior and black top so I dont have to make one of them.
