Lower Coolant Hose Won't Fit
2002 XK8. Tried to replacel lower radiator hose with Üro MJA4515AD. Hose end to radiator is too small. It's ID is 1 5/8. The ID of the original is 1 3/4. Tried heating to stretch and lubricant and still no go. The original was two hoses spliced together. I thought the splice was to repair a leak. Guessing now maybe spliced to make it fit. I think the radiator is original. Anyone else have this issue?
Although it may indeed be just a duff hose from Üro, note that the ends of MJA4515AD have slightly different bores (the OEM I fitted certainly has) the radiator end being the larger.
Its shape almost allows it to be fitted either way round.

Yes. Figured that out.
I stay away from URO if I can. Only option on RockAuto when I ordered. Recommended brand?
They had Jaguar brand only on special order. Almost every parts seller only had URO. I bought Mackay brand. Never heard of but found some good reviews.

This is interesting. I replaced every underhood hose on my car when I first got it. Unfortunately, lots of the hoses are URO-only. I noted that they were all slightly too narrow in diameter, but did fit with a bit of finessing. The Rein upper hose fit like a glove.
IIRC I also used a URO lower radiator hose and it fit OK. I did install an aftermarket radiator, but the car already had one. Being as had sat for 8 years I didn't want to risk anything. I wonder if you have some odd non-standard radiator.

another workaround is to heat up a hose end with a hair dryer, or if very careful not to overdo it, with a heat gun on low temp setting.
I used that method to get a 1/2” ID hose over the flare end of the stock ATF hoses, (formally going into the side radiator tank).
