Unhappy Lower timing chain noise

I had the upper valve chains/tensioners replaced 6 mos ago due to a whirring metalic noise coming from the engine compartment. The noise has persisted, and I was wondering if it could be lower chain noise.

Thoughts?

noises are very hard to communicate to others...any chance you can video w/ some sound with it? at least you 'll get some guessing.

Yes the Primaries can cause an engine rattle. They don't fail as often as the secondaries, but I have replaced failed/damaged lowers and the curved tensioner blades that rattled as a result.

TSB for you

The warranty times are NOT real world, but that was all Jaguar was willing to pay for the engineering mistake.

Thanks guys. I talked to my indy tech today and he said because the noise goes away after engine warm up, it could be a partially blocked oil port for the tensioner(s). He reccomended a lighter weight oil to see if it went away. I'll take it in tomorrow so they can take a listen w/the stethoscope.
