Default 19 inch Apollo wheels

Some great information, but I’m still a little confused. I have the 19 inch Apollo wheel and I read that the 19” should be torqued to 90 ft lbs (about 122 nm). Don’t want to over tighten. 2004 XK8 with 42,500 km.

Down here in TEXAS, we generally tighten our Lug Nuts to about 75 Lbs. But the "Tire Store Guys" want to use those Air Tools that they have set to 125 lbs....So you have to tell them: "Jaguar Wheels should be tightened to: 75 Lbs. PLEASE!" If you don't they will distort the Chrome Metal Covers that come on the Lug Nuts....They are made for 75 Lbs. Maximum....I'm on my 2nd Set of Chrome Capped Lug Nuts and 20 of them cost around $120.00 or so Bucks!!!...With all the miles I have driven, I've never had a loose Lug Nut......Some have come loose elsewhere but not on the Wheels.......

Interestingly, many years ago at Costco here in the USA the technicians would only tighten with torque wrenches. They had a reference book listing the various vehicle specifications.
I do not know what they are doing now.
Installers with the air wrenches set to 125 ft.lbs. might be more accustomed to heavy trucks.
At the local AutoZone, they confirmed that management set the air wrenches at 80 ft.lbs. for clockwise.
When i am purchasing tires i tell them to use a torque wrench. If they say that is impossible, i go somewhere else.
Once a mechanic screws up on something so basic as over tightening lugs, it tells me that the very basics of mechanical work are not known or taught. He is fired.
Cheap costs in the long run. Places that must compete on price cut in other ways.

ibblue2.........

You have given us some of the facts that didn't work out for you...Then you told us you needed options for an 05 XK8, but not OEM....So now we are guessing that you have an 05 XK8 that need Lug Nuts but you have not told us which Wheels are being used......So Blue, tell us, which Wheel is being used on your 05 XK8? how about a close-up Photo of the Wheel? What size is it? Is it for the Front or Rear or Both? If you want information from the Forum, you should give us all the details....Then Blue, you never can tell how much information is truly out there......I could give you information and you might order it and with the information you requested, the Lug Nut might and might not fit.....Then you would be MAD at me....

Default Thank you bcprice36 et al

Thanks it appears that it really goes by years and models more than rim size, so have gone with 75 lbs. I’ll check them after an outing. Cheers
