Default Made some shock mount decorative caps.

I've been working on getting my xk8 ready for the July JCNA show in little Switzerland and really wanted some chrome caps on my shock monts. I spent a ton lately on the stainless air intake hose and the red silicone hoses on the way from paragon so I decided to come up with something on my own. And with all the old badges laying around, of course they would have a growler. I'm prettily happy with the results but I would like the older growler face. If I can find a couple I may part with these. But if not, they still look pretty good!!

A good overall shot of the almost finished bay. I need to do more cleaning but with the pollen there's no point until right before the show. Tis is a daily driver. Made some shock mount decorative caps.-image.jpg

Pretty nice touch Phil. I may be my favorite add-on in the engine bay or at least is a tie with the polished air intake.

Surprised you used the growlers though. Would the hood not close with the leapers there?

Its all looking very good Phil. I have no doubt you will soon start collecting trophies.

How are those metal covers attached?

Sadly, leapers wouldn't fit!! Lol. But don't laugh, I considered using a small leaper keychain to make the dip stick!! Lol

I had a friend make it for me. I'm really happy with how it turned out. I'm waiting for the red silicone coolant hoses from paragon then I'm done!! Time to start detailing all the fidgety bits that need attention and details.

Hey Phil,

Do you have a custom hood (bonnet) liner? Can't tell from the picture. I saw one installed recently and they look really good. Might be a nice addition to your engine bay.

They come with various designs (leapers, script, etc).

I want one but unfortunately I believe the gentleman that makes them is going through some cancer issues. I'd truly love one but I know from personal experience that during that process, a liner isn't high n the priority list. If he's back up and running, I'll be the first to gladly order one.
If anyone knows his progress, I'd love to know. More so to know that he on the good side of his situation!!
