The switch is actually two micro switches. One for cruise and the other for stop lights. So the cruise switch could fail and still have stop lights. Also the lever that actuates it could not be making contact, and need adjusting.

There are lots of threads on swapping this part. It's behind and above the brake pedal. You will need:
- A spanner or ratchet with I think a 10 mm socket
- A flash light mounted on your head
- If you are a big guy, contortionist skills or an 8 year old child.

Rather than replacing the failed brake pedal switch assembly with a new one from Jaguar, you are much better off replacing just the two microswitches contained in the assembly. Decent soldering skills are required. I had a local EE friend do it for me after the new assembly I installed in late 2012 failed in late 2016....
This approach will cost you less than $15 (including shipping) compared to the $130 or more for a new assembly, and the replacement microswitches (one source is mouser.com) are better-quality than the OEM ones....
