Exclamation Moscow XK8 Help

Hi everyone, my name is Dmitry and this is my Jag, 1997 4.0 xk8. I've bought it half a year ago from the one and only owner in Russia. 90k kilometers and a bit worn out. It is a rare buddy in Moscow, even in Russia, i can assume that it might be maximum 30 cars in Ru. So long story short, i need your help and advise, this is my first Jag and due to lack of info and spare parts it is hard to rebuild it.

I wanna share with you some photos, and in the net messages i will ask some questions)
What was done: more or less we finished with a body and everything (instead of alternator) done from the engine point of view.

Please welcome!

Thank you in advance!

It's me) I'am a bit tall so you can see only part of me))

What do you think about this wheels) (Haters gonna hate))) )

And here it is! My first and most hated question, we decided to paint front and rear windshield strip. Guys from the service tried to disassemble it and (who can expect) they teared rubber part, you can find it on a photo.

Does anybody know if it’s possible to buy only rubber part of front and rear window cover strip or any supplementary options?

Welcome Dmitry and congrats on the Cat. It looks superb and I love that colour.

From what I can find, the rubbers come with the trim piece, and the inner one you show is glued to the back of it. You will need to be careful removing the trim as it's pretty fragile. See if this thread by RaceDiagnostics helps:

Good luck!

Can you find all the pieces. If so superglue or epoxy it back together, some careful sanding and mixed paint the correct color and a air brush, better than nothing.

The problem is i want to remove the trim and paint it, then to install it back. Rubber which is under the plastic part is old and it seems like when i will remove it could break totally. So that's why i want to know if it's possible to buy the spare one.

Welcome to the forums Dmitry,

The Part Numbers you quote have been superseded.
GJA8850AB now GJA8850ABD
GJA8851AB now GJA8851ABD

GJA8850ABD is in stock at Jaguar Classic (part of JLR) at 217 UKP / 287 USD. GJA8851ABD at the same cost is out of stock. Expensive but a lot less than you have been quoted in Moscow.
