'Motorola T605 Bluetooth - won't mute'
Have a Motorola T605 Bluetooth in the 2005 xk8 that just purchased. Able to pair with my iPhone 4. When I try to place a call (pressing the green phone button on the 'Motorola T605 Bluetooth unit) the call goes through but the radio doesn't mute and the called party hears my radio but not me. (if I select the phone button on the radio the screen states "no phone connected".) Any ideas would be appreciated.

I am guessing who ever installed it just connected power and hooked it up with the external speaker.
You need to find the yellow mute wire on the T605.
Then you need to remove the 4 screws retaining the center console storage box and lid. Remove the storage box and lid. Locate the 18 position yellow plastic connector that is not connected to anything (it usually is on the drivers side). The connector should have some tiny pin numbers embossed on it (or at least in the corners). You may need a bright light and magnifer to see them. Connect the yellow wire from the T605 to the blue wire on position 6 of the connector. Your mute should now work.
If you are not satisfied with the volume, the system can be configured to play through your stereo. Let me know if you need instructions for that also.

Here's the yellow connector under the cubby (storage) box nearest to the LH seat back:

Mine has a harness plug attached because it's got factory Bluetooth fitted.

I have two T605s in my cars. Motorola's install diagrams are wrong. The yellow is not the mute line, orange is. So if you find the yellow wire hooked up, replace it with the orange. strange but true, trust me.
Got it up and running! Thanks to all for the input it allowed me to overcome my issues. Only one thing. When I start up each day, it says something to me in a foreign language. Not sure if she's cursing at me or welcoming me to the day.
trying to install a T605 bluetooth in a 2005 xk8.
I couldn't find the wiring diagram for a 2005 but did find a pretty good description, including pins on the 14 pin yellow socket (mentioned in this post as a 18 pin ). this description shows power on pins 4 and 5 with ground on pin 2.
I don't have power on those pins. do I have the wrong pin-out or is a fuse blown- and where is that fuse block located.
appreciate any help I can get on this

On the 18-pin connector, you should have battery on pin 4, and ignition switched power on pin 5 and ground on pin 11.
Fuses for battery are F5, and for ignition switched power F10 on the right (US passenger side) dashboard fusebox.
