1999 XK8 convertible. I'm in the process of replacing all of my coolant hoses, valley hoses, octopus and assorted. There is a large multi-plug unit (for lack of a better term at this point) attached to the transmission and the octopus hose runs behind it and pops back out again from back there. I feel it would be easier to remove this multi-plug unit to replace the octopus hose in stead of fishing the hose through. The throttle body and intake are off of the car and the battery is disconnected.

1) What is this multi-plug unit?
2) How do I remove it?
3) Cautions and or concerns to consider?

Sounds like you found all the O2 sensor connectors and the gearbox link harness.

 

Well now...I discovered that you can indeed snake the octopus hose behind the multi-plug (multi-pin I now know).
