Default Mystery Object. What is this?

I moved the XKR off the drive this morning and found this on the floor. Any idea what it is and where it belongs?

Can't say I remember seeing any brass parts on my xkr. I think you've picked that up as you've been driving somehow.

Agree, I've never run across anything made of brass, never mind shaped like that and with an o-ring.

Part of a lawn sprinkler perhaps or some other water transport apparatus?

+1 on the sprinkler, is the post with the o-ring hollow? There also appears to be a slash along the cap indicative a 45 degree sprinkler head, pop up type. The o-ring has worn and allowed the assembly to be ejected from the body of the sprinkler and/or missing ring clamp as well, maybe still inside the sprinkler body. The top 'peg' may have secured to a larger diameter cover which further conceals the pop-up sprinkler.

It's a Sparepiece. Jag puts them in all engine compartments. That way when you find it you take your car to the dealer and they can charge you $1000.00 to "put it back

Good guesses guys, problem is I have never seen a pop up sprinkler in the UK. We depend on the actual rain to do the watering over here.

After much research and helpful hints from others I have decided its part of a pressure washer valve.

It's an integral part of the flux capacitor. It needs to be properly inserted back in place if you intend on achieving time travel upon reaching 88mph.

Do you home-brew beer? It looks like a part for that.
A relief valve, perhaps?

That is a seldom seen o-ring maker. When take that o-ring off, then dip it in water then another o-ring appears. Good for 29 O-rings, after that hollow it out and you have a ring like the one you have on.

That's something to be thankful for Frank.
