Default Navigation clock

Ok, 03 XK8 with Nav. Brought the car from CA to HI. Have no disc for Nav system. Time zone settings in Nav do not list Hawaii with is -10. The close test is Pacific time so my clock is off by two hours.

Is there anyway to get the clock time zone set for Hawaii?

OK, I searched and found a lot of info and questions about this but no firm answer other than it can't be done.

Does anyone know of any new info?

The only Time Zones available are:

EU Central
GMT
US Eastern
US Central
US Mountain
US Pacific

Let's try a bit of lateral thinking!

I'm on GMT which is +11 hours ahead of you. This should make EU Central +12 hours ahead of Maui time. With a 12 hour clock, it should display the correct time for you if you select EU Central.

No good for Navigation setup but if you don't have the disc, presumably you don't intend to use Navigation.

GGG, you are the man, must be why you pull down the big bucks.

Just tried it, EU Central puts my clock one hour slow, Hawaii does not do Day light savings time, so I turned on the Summer Time feature and viola the clock is correct, we'll see what happens this fall but for now I'm a very happy camper.
Thanks again

I didn't think the clock would work without a disc. In fact I just tried mine and it only displays an "insert disc" message.

Did you somehow get it to show the clock with no disc inserted at all?

Just got the car, turned it on and the clock and all Nav functions work, no disc in the trunk unit. Of course I have no maps.

I only wish I could be in Maui to see it.

Yes, I'm also intrigued here. Didn't think the clock would display without a disc. Would be curious to know why your unit is able to do so! I know several members on here that considered buying a disc just to get the clock!

Well now my apologizes to all. As I said I just got the car and looked at the nav unit one time but pushed the eject button with the car off, figured it would eject. Well I just went and rechecked and turned the car on to be sure, damm if a disc didn't pop out.

Sorry for the confusion. No desert for me!
